Emergency Dentistry in Las Vegas, NV

A dental emergency is any situation that requires prompt attention to save a tooth, stop ongoing tissue bleeding, or alleviate severe pain. Many problems can be cared for at home until you see a dentist, but there are a few circumstances in which you need to call our dentist immediately. If any of the following apply to you, you should immediately contact Hybrid Dental, and visit our office as quickly as you can:

  • If you lose a permanent tooth, pick it up by the crown and rinse it gently in cool water if possible. Replace the tooth in the socket in the jaw. Otherwise, put the tooth in a container of saliva or milk and get to the dentist as soon as possible. You may also want to place a cold compress on your face to reduce swelling until you can see your dentist.
  • If you have a knocked-out tooth, start by rinsing off any debris from the injured area and your mouth with warm water. Gently insert and hold the tooth in its socket with a clean cloth or gauze until you get to the dentist’s office. If you cannot reinsert the tooth, place it in a small container of milk or saliva and bring it to your appointment.
  • You have a severe toothache that never goes away; this may mean that you have an abscessed tooth. This painful infection should be treated as soon as possible to avoid serious consequences like tooth loss.

What Causes an Emergency Dental Situation?

Toothaches

A toothache is any pain affecting a patient’s tooth or gums. This includes sharp shooting pains or dull aches that are constant and worsen over time. While a toothache may often result from a minor issue that can be resolved with a simple filling, it is essential to contact us at our dental office as soon as possible to ensure your comfort.

Broken or Chipped Teeth

Unfortunately, even the most careful patients who brush and floss twice daily may be susceptible to chipping a tooth. However, that doesn’t mean they must suffer through the discomfort alone! We have treatments that can repair minor chips and cracks in teeth, including cosmetic bonding, porcelain veneers, and even dental crowns.

Severe Gum Inflammation

The gums are the foundation of the smile, and the signs of gum disease are visible when gums appear red, swollen, or bleed easily while brushing and flossing. If you are experiencing these symptoms, do not try to treat the inflammation at home; instead, call our office to schedule a visit as soon as possible for a professional diagnosis.

Immediate treatment is essential to prevent permanent tooth loss and other complications related to dental trauma. For the best dental treatment tailored to your particular needs, visit Hybrid Dental at 7730 W Cheyenne Ave Ste 108, Las Vegas 89129, or call (702) 658-8008.
